Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SCC Fair Freight (“SCC”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information.
1. Information we collect
- Account: name, email, phone, company, role, password (hashed).
- Verification: CDL, government ID, DOT/MC numbers, certificate of insurance.
- Freight: loads, applications, messages, PODs, photos.
- Location: driver GPS coordinates while tracking is enabled on assigned loads.
- Payment: processed by Stripe; we store only customer/subscription IDs, never card numbers.
- Usage: log data, device, IP address, actions taken in-app.
2. How we use information
To operate the platform, match shippers with carriers, verify carriers under the Verification Gate, process payments and tax, send transactional notifications, detect fraud and abuse, and improve the service.
3. Sharing
We share data with: (a) other platform users as required to coordinate freight (e.g. shipper sees assigned carrier’s name and ETA), (b) Stripe for payments and tax, (c) FMCSA and law enforcement when required by law, (d) infrastructure providers (hosting, email, push) under data processing agreements. We do not sell your data.
4. Location tracking
Driver location is captured only while a load is active and tracking is enabled. It is visible to the shipper of that load, the assigned dispatcher, and admins. You can stop tracking at any time from the driver app.
5. Retention
We retain freight records and PODs for at least 7 years to satisfy DOT recordkeeping requirements. Verification documents are retained while your account is active and for up to 3 years after closure.
6. Your rights
You can request export, correction, or deletion of your personal data by emailing privacy@sccfairfreight.com. Some data tied to legal obligations (PODs, payment records) cannot be deleted before its retention period.
7. Security
We use TLS in transit, encryption at rest, row-level security on user data, and principle-of-least-privilege access for staff. No system is perfectly secure; report suspected vulnerabilities to security@sccfairfreight.com.
8. Children
SCC is not intended for users under 18.
9. Changes
We’ll notify you in-app or by email about material changes to this policy.
